The Artist-Blacksmith's Association of North America (ABANA)


ABANA is dedicated to perpetuating the noble art of blacksmithing. A blacksmith is one who shapes and forges iron with hammer and anvil. ABANA encourages and facilitates the training of blacksmiths; disseminates information about sources of material and equipment; exposes the art of blacksmithing to the public; serves as a center of information about blacksmithing for the general public, architects, interior designers, and other interested parties.

ABANA Board Nominations deadline - Candidate's statements will be published in Vol 44 No 3 Summer 2015 Anvil's Ring

With only 4 candidates for the 5 positions by the 15 April Election Deadline, in accordance with the bylaws they will be declared board members effective at the board meeting in November. The board will fill the remaining position by appointment. The candidate statements for the four new board members follow

To aid in finding candidates to fill the remaining seat, we are seeking interested members. Just as for the election, submit a statement telling us about yourself, what you can do to help ABANA, and send along a high resolution 2MB jpeg headshot. Send it by email or in writing to the ABANA Central Office by 1 Aug 2015. The individual appointed will be notified and have his picture and statement published in the Fall AR. This appointee will also assume his duties on the board at the November 2015 Board Meeting in Salt Lake City
