New Traveling Exhibition

Forged work is undergoing a renaissance—melding heritage craft with contemporary artistic expression. Contemporary Forged & Fabricated Sculpture is a juried traveling exhibition that examines the evolving role of blacksmithing within the broader context of sculpture and material-based art. This exhibit invites both established and emerging metalsmiths to explore the boundaries between function and form, tradition and experimentation.

Forging is not merely a process—it is a language. The exhibition aims to showcase artists who utilize this language to engage with contemporary audiences, challenge conventional aesthetics, and elevate forged metalwork as a dynamic and enduring medium.

Exhibition Objectives
• Showcase high-quality forged and fabricated sculpture rooted in blacksmithing traditions.
• Emphasize innovation, technique, and conceptual development in metal-based sculpture.
• Foster public appreciation for contemporary forging through exhibitions across multiple geographic regions.
• Support ABANA’s mission to advance the art and craft of blacksmithing through visibility and education.
